This Week on DVD

This week on DVD our picks is The Losers, an explosive action tale of betrayal and revenge, The Losers centers around an elite Special Forces unit sent to the Bolivian jungle on a search-and-destroy mission. But the team – Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar – soon find that they have become the target of a deadly double cross instigated by a powerful enemy known only as Max. Making good use of the fact they’re now presumed dead, the group goes deep undercover in a dangerous plot to clear their names and even the score with Max.

The Losers provides nonstop and pretty thrilling action, with a stellar cast, doing the comic book series from which it was adapted proud in the process. The movie may not have an airtight plot line, but its enthusiastic, talented actors--Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans, and the underappreciated Jason Patric--and the crisp, punch-packing direction by Sylvain White more than make up for it...

EN 5 Second Review: Just a brilliant sci-fi movie that is going to be a classic. The best of the genre in several years. A must see.

Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). EN 5 Second Review: Nick Cage is brilliant as always, this Harry Potter clone is better than you think, but not exactly Gone with the Wind either. Fun enough though.

Lindsay Lohan is crazy, hot and sexy as a badass gun licking Nun in the upcoming Machete

The 24 year-old actress still manages to look super hot and dangerous in a religious habit, while licking a big gun. If she is this hot in prison, it will be back to the lesbian ways soon for Lohan. Personally we cannot wait for that, or Machete!

 

Movie Pick–Predators

Predators

Robert Rodriguez presents a bold new chapter in the Predator universe, "Predators," shot on location under Rodriguez's creative auspices at the filmmaker's Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, directed by Nimrod Antal. The film stars Oscar®-winner Adrien Brody ("The Pianist") as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they've been brought together on an alien planet... as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers - mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members - human "predators" that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.

EN 5 Second Review:

What more can be said about Robert Rodriguez. We never would have believed it, but he has resurrected this franchise along the lines of the original which is to say nothing more than a cowboy movie and it just works even today.

Despicable Me

In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Surrounded by a small army of minions, we discover Gru (voiced by Steve Carell), planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. EN 5 Second Review: It's hard to dislike this movie. It's not great, but very serviceable for a kids flick that parents can enjoy too. It's actually quite witty in the vein of Spy vs. Spy at times.
